What We Believe About…

The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is verbally inspired in every word, and absolutely inerrant in the original documents. We affirm the infallibility, sufficiency, and authority of Scripture.

God
We believe that there is but one living and true God, infinite, all knowing, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each equally deserving worship and obedience.

The Trinity
We believe that there is but one living and true God, infinite all-knowing, perfect in all His attributes one in essence, eternally existing in three persons—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each equally deserving worship and obedience.

Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Spirit-filled life. As the supernatural and sovereign agent in regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit also indwells, sanctifies, instructs, empowers them to service, and seals them unto the day of redemption.

Humanity
We believe that God created man in His own image; that man was created to have fellowship with God and was created in the beginning without sin. Man brought sin upon the human race when he was tempted by Satan in the Garden and engaged in sin by disobeying God. As a result of the sin of Adam, man became sinful in nature; a totally depraved person, separated by sin from God his Creator. Men and women are born with this sinful nature and therefore live under the curse of condemnation, only to be removed by the grace of God, by the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.

We do not believe that infants and small children, who die before reaching the age of accountability, suffer the consequences of condemnation. These individuals are shown the grace and mercy of a just God, because they have died before they were able to discern between that which is good and evil and are therefore the recipients of heavenly citizenship.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is instantaneous and is accomplished solely by the power and enabling of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of Scripture when the repentant sinner responds in faith. Salvation is wholly of God by grace based on the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not based on human merit or works. The redeemed are kept by God’s power and thus secure in Christ forever.

Baptism
We believe that scriptural baptism is immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is a believer’s first step in obedience to the Lordship of Christ. Baptism is symbolic of the believer’s death to his or her old way of life and the commitment to living in the power of Christ’s resurrection.

Satan
We believe Satan to be an angel, created by God, who rebelled against God and subsequently fell from Heaven. While he and his demonic forces have been given freedom and authority to rule in this present age, his doom has been sealed by Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. After Christ’s millennial reign, He will banish Satan forever.

Heaven
We believe that Heaven is a real place. It is the eternal home of every believer from every age. There, we will meet the Lord face to face. Satan is barred from Heaven as are all who have rejected the gospel. There will be no sin and no sorrow, not even the sorrow of mourning for those who are unsaved. Everything will be perfect: beauty, peace, worship etc. Nothing will enter Heaven to spoil it or tarnish our eternal enjoyment. We cannot begin to conceive of Heaven’s glory. It is distinguished especially by the presence of God.

Hell
We believe that Hell is a literal place where unbelieving persons who have rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ will suffer future and eternal punishment. The presence of God is totally absent from Hell, which makes it a place of great anguish.

The Church
We believe that a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. The church observes the two ordinances of Christ, is governed by His laws, exercises the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeks to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The church is also known as the Bride of Christ and is to minister in the name and nature of Christ.
